This means a family of four can minimize waste by more than two tons each year just by the easy task of recycling. Americans by themselves throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. Recycling a single aluminum can saves enough energy to power a TV for three hours, so imagine how much energy 2.5 million cans can make. It is important to recycle because it affects the environment, people and all living things.
